| Steve Ferguson, Qigong instructor Steve has been actively studying Qigong for 15 years. He has studied under some of the best teachers available. In 2000, he received a Black Belt in the Emperor's Long Fist Kung Fu system and an Instructor's Certificate from the Cloud Forest Chin Woo Chinese Medical School. His classes focus on initial fitness and the enhancement of internal strength and relaxation. Katie Fout, Yoga instructor A recent transplant from North Carolina , Katie began her yoga journey around 4 years ago and fell instantly in love with the sense of peace and centering the practice has afforded her over the years. With a fitness background that ranges from military fitness routines (yes she’s ex-military) to aerobics and everything in between the full spectrum practice of spiritual, physical and emotional well-being offered by her yoga practice has been a natural fit. She parlayed her love of the practice into teaching in 2008 studying at the Wilmington Yoga Center , Wilmington , North Carolina , where she earned her teacher’s certification. Judy Jackson, Yoga instructor A native of Mississippi and a transplanted Californian, Judy is a very active retired educator, who began her experience with yoga at the tender age of 60. She was thrilled with the way yoga addressed her health issues. Inspired by all the many benefits of this ancient art, she decided to delve deeper into the philosophy & anatomy of yoga. She studied at the Rishi institute in LA, where she became a certified yoga instructor in 2006. Ruth Van Sickle, RYT Yoga instructor Our newest instructor, Ruth specializes in smooth, gentle yoga. She holds a Yoga Certification, and trained at Asheville Yoga Center. Ruth is currently working on her 500-hour certification at AYC and holds extra certification in Yin, Hatha, Prenatal & Restorative forms of Yoga. Jennifer Chisam, M.S., RYT Yoga instructor Jennifer comes to us from the fitness industry, with a great love of yoga, and its "Magic". As a long-time personal trainer and physiologist, Jennifer has a strong knowledge of body alignment and safety. She has years of experience working with special populations, and enjoys modifying the poses for each individual. Jennifer teaches all her classes with her wonderful mix of light-hearted laughter and loving kindness. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher, who studied at Asheville Yoga Center. She also holds a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology and a master's degree in Sports Management. |
